Radiolarian 4

$465.00

The Radiolarian Series is based on microscopic sea creatures. An organism made of mostly silica, they are fantastic little beasts. Inspiration for these sculptures come from electron micrographs, Ernst Hackel’s drawings and vials of radiolarians I got from a Woods Hole Oceanographic researcher. Their forms stand out under my binocular microscope.

Hand-built stoneware,

copper glaze with wood-soda kiln effects, wood fired
